Bar drinks by the pool

I swam at the Sunset Crest pool, where a bar served drinks Monday through Saturday from ten until five. I also walked to the Sandy Lane golf club and ate meals at The Tides. Beach umbrellas and chairs sat in my room for use on the local beaches.

Swimming at Sunset Crest Beach Club

I used the pass provided to access the Sunset Crest Beach Club and its pool during my stay. I sat on the provided beach chairs while I enjoyed the tropical garden and the local monkeys that visited my veranda at breakfast. I also kept my cocktails cold using the apartment blender.

Dining under the covered patio

I used the barbecue and the covered outdoor eating area at the back of my villa during the evening. I washed my swimwear in the villa washing machine while enjoying the quiet garden space.

Coconuts at the annex door

Amethyst welcomed me with coconuts upon arrival at the apartment annex. I made meals in the kitchen while I stayed in the local neighborhood of Saint James. The apartment provided beach towels for my walk to the nearby beach.

Full kitchen equipment inside the apartment

Rain-head shower and laundry facilities

I used the washer and dryer in the backyard laundry room after spending the day at Alleynes bay. The rain-head shower in the remodeled bathroom refreshed me while I watched Netflix on the bedroom television. I prepared meals in the kitchen with a coffee machine and cookware.

Direct walk to the pool deck

I stayed in a ground-floor apartment with a private entrance to the pool deck. The two-bedroom unit included a full kitchen with high-end appliances where I kept my drinks cold. Access to the lap swimming pool was immediate from my bedroom door.

Laundry machine for wet clothes

I used the washing machine in the house to clean my clothes after the rain. The kitchen held a big range oven with many pots and dishes for baking. I also watched a group of monkeys pass through their territory during the morning hours near the hotel.

Concierge stocked groceries in the condo

Concierge staff placed necessities in my condo before I arrived, so I walked into a full kitchen. I spent my afternoon on the balcony overlooking the pool and security-monitored grounds. When I needed a ride, I used the public bus station located next to the condo.

Private swimming inside the gated site

I swam in my private pool before walking to the second larger pool located within the gated site. My villa had a spacious kitchen and living area, which I used daily during my trip. Three large bathrooms were on the top floor and one half bath sat downstairs.

Private walkway to the ocean

I walked through a gated path along a private way to reach the beach near the Fairmont each morning. Buses ran along the road behind the house, so I took them to Speightstown and Bridgetown to eat out. My apartment held a kitchen with amenities and a TV room, made for a simple stay.

Veranda for morning coffee

I sat out on the veranda with my morning cup of coffee, only a few feet from the shared pool. I walked to the beach for a swim during the day and explored Holetown using the bus.
